On the contrary, he got two of them, even though his descendants had by far what were not the most numerous tribes (Numbers ch.2 and ch.26). He was given this honor because of his leadership, his forgiving of his brothers, his supporting the family in the famine, and his superlative righteousness.

Answer:

Joseph was considered to be so fertile that the descendants of each of his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh were so numerous as to be their own tribes.

Joseph was included in the twelve tribes of Israel by having his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, each be considered a separate tribe. This was done to maintain the balance of twelve tribes after Joseph himself was excluded.

The tribal arrangement in Israel was based on descent from the 12 sons of Jacob. (Ge 29:32-30:24; 35:16-18) These "twelve family heads [Gr., doʹde·ka pa·tri·arʹkhas]" produced "the twelve tribes of Israel." (Ge 49:1-28; Ac 7:8) However, Jacob blessed Joseph's two sons, Manasseh the older and Ephraim the younger, and said: "Ephraim and Manasseh will become mine like [his actual sons] Reuben and Simeon." (Ge 48:5, 13-20) When the various tribes received their land inheritance in the Promised Land (Jos 13-19), there was no "tribe" of Joseph. Instead, "the sons of Joseph," Manasseh and Ephraim, were counted as distinct tribes in Israel.

Joseph had two sons while living in Egypt. When the Children of Israel left Egypt to go into the Promised Land, Joseph's two son's and their families were added to the other tribes of Israel and they received the inheritance. Joseph's two sons were named Ephraim and Manasseh.

The Tribe of Joseph would literally have been too massive to have a single inheritance, so it was sub-divided into the half-tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh. There were still only twelve tribes because Levi lost its inheritance of tribal land by becoming the Priestly Group.

Because he was named as two of the tribes (through his two sons).

Are whites and Chinese a part of the 12 tribes of the bible?

No. All twelve tribes are from Israel. They are known as the twelve tribes of Israel, they all descend from Abraham's grandson who was named Israel. There are some offshoot religions that claim to be one of the tribes, or a "lost tribe" of Israel, but blood tests have proven they do not descend from Israel.

Who are the thelve tribes of Israel?

The twelve tribes of Israel are the descendants of the twelve sons of the biblical patriach who was originally called 'Jacob', but had his name changed to 'Israel' . (Jacob was the grandson of Abraham.) Jacob's 12 sons were:- -Reuben -Simeon -Levi -Judah -Issachar -Zebulun -Dan -Naphtali -Gad -Asher -Joseph -Benjamin Jacob/Israel had 12 sons of his own, (Reuben to Benjamin), so, in that respect, Israel had 12 sons: all through the Bible God refers to the "twelve tribes" of Israel. However, the tribe of Levi was separated by God to be a tribe of priests [See Numbers 1:50-51]: all the priests of Israel were to come from the tribe of Levi, and they were not to go to war or be counted in a census [Numbers 1:49], and Israel also adopted Joseph's 2 sons (Ephraim and Manasseh) as his own [Genesis 48:15]. This adds up to more than 12 tribes, but the number of tribes in Scripture is always twelve, depending on the terms of reference and purpose required, done by adding or dropping tribes as required. When the actual sons of Israel are added it comes to 12. When Levi is excluded (eg war or census) this number is reduced to 11 if Joseph is counted, but it becomes 12 when Ephraim and Manasseh (Joseph's 2 sons) are included instead of the tribe of Joseph. When Dan is excluded from the sealing (that is, protection) of the 144,000 in the Tribulation [ Revelation 7:5-8; the 144.000 are a missionary corps of redeemed jews who are instrumental in the salvation of many jews and gentiles during the Tribulation] ( this exclusion is because of Dan introducing idol worship into Israel [See 1Kings 12:30 ] ) this number is again reduced to 11, but it becomes 12 when Manasseh is included as well as Joseph .
