The "his house" in Mk 2:15 appears to refer to Levi the son of Alphaeus from the previous verse. From other texts it seems clear that Jesus at least had free use of Peter's house in Capernaum, but it would be a stretch to conclude that Jesus actually owned property in Galilee. I think you may be misunderstanding the meaning of what Jesus says in Mt 8:20. In the context, they are on their way to Judea and people are coming up asking to join his group (which they likely believe is marching on Jerusalem in some sort of glorious Messianic takeover). He is warning them that the near future was full of hardship, not glory. Mor specifically, though he had friends in Judea, Jesus had no residence there. He was anticipating living the last few months prior to the crucifixion as a traveler "on the road."

In Matthew 8:20, Jesus was emphasizing the itinerant nature of his ministry, highlighting his lack of a permanent earthly home as he traveled to preach the gospel. When Mark 2:15 mentions Jesus having a house, it likely refers to his staying with someone temporarily or having a place where he could rest, not necessarily a permanent residence. Jesus often relied on the hospitality of others during his ministry.

Where in the Bible is the trial of Jesus before the Sanhedrin?

A:The trial of Jesus before the Sanhedrin is in the synoptic gospels: Matthew 26:57-66, Mark 14:53-64, Luke 22:66-71. In Matthew and Mark, the trial takes place soon after Jesus is arrested at midnight, but in Luke the priests wait until daybreak, since the Sanhedrin would never have met during hours of darkness to try Jesus. John's Gospel does not have a trial before the Sanhedrin, but has Jesus taken first to the house of Annas, father-in-law to the high priest, who interrogated him alone. Then Jesus was taken to the house of the high priest, Caiaphas, who again interviewed Jesus alone.

Why did Matthew include the messages of Isaiah?

Matthew included the messages of Isaiah to show that Jesus fulfilled prophecies from the Hebrew Scriptures, demonstrating his identity as the promised Messiah. This helped to validate Jesus' authority and mission to a Jewish audience familiar with Isaiah's writings.

What was Matthew profession before he became an apostle of Jesus?

Matthew himself tells us that he was a publican, which means a taxman, (not a pub keeper) - Matthew 9:9, 10:3. I would also like to add that being a publican was considered a shameful thing in the culture of the day and for a good reason. So it is noteworthy, that only Matthew reveals that about himself, while Mark and Luke mention Matthew but say nothing about his occupation.

Why does Matthew in the Bible in refer to Jesus as son of david?

If Jesus was the messiah the first question asked would be "is he of the house of David?" Any claim to be the Messiah would have to pass this genealogical test. Every devout Jew knew that the Messiah would come from the lineage of David. So Matthew traces Christ's genealogy through the royal line of David. The title 'son of David' also links Jesus with humanity.

What did the soldiers do to Jesus before they crucified him?

The 4 accounts of the Gospel give us a record of several things that were done by the soldiers to Jesus before He died. Jesus was whipped (Matthew 27:26), stripped of his clothes (Matthew 27:27) and dressed in a scarlet cloak (Matthew 27:28). Thorns were twisted into a crown and placed on his head and a reed in his hand (Matthew 27:29). After this was done, the soldiers spat on Jesus, hit Him on the head and laughed at Him (Matthew 27:30). Jesus was then made to carry the cross (Luke 23:26) to Golgotha. Upon arrival the soldiers offered Jesus wine mixed with a drug (Matthew 27:34) and crucified Him (Matthew 27:35) before gambling to see who would get the clothes (Matthew 27:35); they laughed at Him hanging on the cross and offered vinegar to Jesus (Luke 23:35,36).

Why doesnt Jesus call for an army of angels in Matthew 26?

A simple answer can be found in Matthew 26:54. To put it another way, Jesus knew it was time for Him to die on the cross to pay for our sins. If He had saved Himself, there would be no crucifixion which would result in our salvation, and no resurrection which would result in victory over the grave.
