Some types of snake are harmful to humans. Mostly they are the venomous snakes but constrictors like the Anaconda can crush the air out of someone and kill them. It has not been proven that they can eat you though, we are too big. Some Venomous snakes are not too bad like the Adder, you can simply have the anti-venom and you will be fine but some like the Spitting Cobra can kill you in hours. 9/10 of the worlds most venomous snakes live in Australia so that is the most likely place for you to be at risk.

Is kingsnakes dangerous?

No, not all snakes are dangerous. Actually, the majority of them are quiet safe. Most snakes pose no threat at all to humans. In fact, snakes tend to help people. They keep down populations of insects and rodents, which helps to reduce disease in populated areas. There are some that are venomous or large enough to leave a nasty bite. Some large constrictors can pose a threat as well. Even then, most of the dangerous snakes will avoid people when they can help it.
