I have 2 of them - one will be 3 years old on May and it is female. She is 12" long (shell is 9"). The other one will be 2 years old on June - and it is male. He is 8" long (shell is 6").
I find them when they were just born and size of dollar coin. I kept them in aquarium for 2 years then moved to garden pond for summer but have to transfer they indoor for winter and they are too big for aquarium righ now so I have to keep them in but tub till spring.

No one hatches turtle, they hatch by themselves due to nearby temperature. In most cases the mother turtle has already been long gone when the baby turtles hatch. They have to survive by themselves.
i think a baby turtle should try to hide because he or her might be too small to go in the water and the reason they can't go in is because some baby turtle's know how to swim but some baby turtle's don't know how to swim.
All baby turtles are called hatchlings whether they are marine or fresh water.
bright lights from the hotel could confuse the baby turtle as the turtle is attracted to it that's how it gets to the water from the moon or sun reflecting off the ocean
