I would strongly recomend that you don't put baby leopard geckos in with adults until they are about 10-12 months of age, depending on the size of your baby. You want to make sure that your baby is able to grow with out stress of possible bullying from more dominant adult geckos. Also depending on the size of your adult gecko it could mistake your baby gecko as food. It isn't uncommon for adult geckos to eat pinkies (baby mice) so it isn't unlikely your adult could attempt to eat or strike at the baby. If your baby is a female it is not safe to introduce her to sexually mature males before she is sexually mature. An early pregnancy is not healty for your new gecko. Leopard geckos mature at about 10-12 months. Males will fight each other once they reach sexual maturity so they should never be put in the cage with an adult male no matter what their age or size.

The role I live by is if the baby is grown enough to eat large super worms and pinkies it should be safe to live with any adult leopard geckos.

Is it okay to feed crested geckoes bananas?

A small amount once every couple of weeks as a treat won't hurt them. They should be eating crested gecko MRP every day. (Repashy crested gecko diet, for example). Calcium-dusted insects can also be given occasionally. Fruit, other than as a rare treat, should not be offered, as it is too difficult to create a balanced diet feeding only fruit and insects to Rhacodactylus geckos. The commercial crested gecko diet formulas take the guesswork out of this, and provide a balanced diet to keep your gecko healthy.

Do crested geckos tails keep moving once they fall of?

Like with all limbs on almost any creature, the nerves are still active once the limb has been removed from the body. In the example that a bird snatches a Crested gecko by the tail, they "drop" the tail and as the tail continues to wiggle around, the crested gecko is able to escape into some brush, while the predator is enjoying a nice tasty tail.

Can you keep leopard and crested geckos in the same habitat?

A leopard gecko comes from the deserts of Afganistan and south easter Asia. A Crested gecko comes from the rainforests of New Caledonia. Their habitats are much to different from one another to ever co-exist. All Gecko species are territorial and will not greet one of the same species unless its breeding season. Do not house any other specie with a crested gecko or a leopard gecko.

Are geckos illegal to keep as pets?

Crested geckos were on the extinct species list back in the early 90's. When a hurricane destroyed their natural habitat of New Caledonia, they were forced out of hiding and re introduced to the reptile hobby. Since 1994, the crested gecko population has exploded due to selective breeding. Now, almost 10 years later, the crested gecko is the second most popular gecko pet in the reptile hobby. These animals are no longer considered to be endangered and there are no laws/CITES restrictions pertaining to their keeping in captivity in most areas.

What type of lizard is good for a 7 year old girl?

I would suggest you get a leopard gecko or a crested gecko as your first lizard pet. Both are low maintenance reptiles that have fairly good temperaments. They don't grow very large and don't require a big cage either. However, keep in mind that these lizards live for a very long time and require your time and dedication to live their entire life-spans.other good first pet- gargoyle gecko (care requirements are similar to those of a crested gecko)- bearded dragon (great first pet if you can provide a large enclosure and the proper diet)-geckos of the rhacodactylus genus (these geckos are great first lizard pets! The crested gecko and the gargoyle gecko are members of this genus. Other members of this genus include: leachianus, rough snouted, chaoua, sasorinum geckos. However, these geckos (with the exception of crested and gargoyle geckos) often command a hefty price.
