Any turtles bites. It all just depends on how used to people they are, and how safe they feel with you. If you want a friendly turtle, you have to spend time with it in a secure environment on a regular basis.
No, they will get nippy and mad. They might bite or even kill the other turtles.
Pet TURTLES DO BITE BUT SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T HURT. Pet TURTLES DO BITE BUT SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T HURT.
Yes, painted turtles are fully capable of biting you. I have 9 juvenile Eastern Painted turtles and they bite my fingers when they want attention or food. Although most painted turtles won't bite when threatened, you will come across the occasional moody one.
I have a hieroglyphic river cooter and he has only ever tried to bite twice in the year that I have had him. I believe this is because the first time my brother was wiggling his finger in front of his face and the second was just before feeding time, because I have them on a feeding schedule they know when they are going to eat...that might be why he tried to bite. It didn't hurt at all, it was just a bit surprising.
they bite with there sharp beak kind of mouth so they can eat.

You can purchase a good quality turtle food and/or leafy greens. You can allow the greens to float in the water. The turtles will bite off of it.
