I've heard it can be used but not for the snakes that you would normally have around the house.

Ok sorry I wrote that but I did some research... Sulfur cannot be used to repel snakes... If the powder is used then it will just get under its skin and irritate the snake and an irritated snake will be more harmful than anything.
