You should never feed your bearded dragon mealworms. Mealworms, even the giant ones, are nearly all shell, and provide very little nutrition for your beardie. Mealworms also have a very high risk of impaction to your beardie. Mealworms are very high in fat and can cause fatty liver in a dragon if used as a dietary staple. Their outer shell made of chitin (sp?) is not digestible which is why they put your dragon at such a high risk of impaction. If your dragon is 16 inches (or body at least 8 inches) you can use superworms which look like giant mealworms but do not have the hard outer shell. They put your dragon at risk of impaction if it isn't big enough to eat the super though. An adult can have supers as a dietary staple.

What are good worms to give to a bearded dragon?

Good worms to feed to your bearded dragons are super worms. NEVER never never feed them wax worms, meal worms, or any other kind because these worms have hard exoskeletons, which could get lodged in the lizards throat and choke it. Many people have lost their beardies to this. Super worms are good in nutrition, but keep it as a rare treat for them. Just stick to feeding your beardie crickets and different veggies.

Do bearded dragon have to eat bug an salad an crickets?

For your bearded dragon to be healthiest you should feed him crickets meal worms and Romain lettuce. when he is a baby he probably wont eat the salad, and he will eat a LOT of crickets. when he gets older he will cut back on crickets and go to salad. I would not recommend giving him meal worms until he is full grown they can cause impaction in babies.
