Why will your snake not eat?

Some times a corn snake will not eat if it 's viv is too cold or too hot so check the temp is not below 25 oc and not above 30 oc . Plus baby corn snakes can get stressed if you keep them in too bigger viv and will refuse too eat .

Try feeding it different food, my fish wasn't eating for a long time either and I changes the food and it is eating again. After a while, I think they get tired of eating the same thing over and over again. Hope this helps. Smileygrl48

1) maybe it is not hungry. They don't usually eat often. 2) snakes are picky. Change its food from one rodent to another 3) make it frozen? Better for the snake. 4) with a penic, poke the dead prey around. Maybe the corn snake will jump at it. 5) lonely? Want to get it another companion (MUST be corn snake, but NO 2 males) 6) depressed? My friends corn snake died because it commited suicide. It starved itself. 7) Sometimes its actually ill. take it to a snake specialist VET. if this does not help, put NTM at the end when you re answer the question. it makes ME not answer the same q again and so YOU don't get the wrong answer, if its wrong. Snakes don't need to eat every day, or even every week. Their metabolism is slower than a mammal's. If you have fed your snake within the last two weeks, don't worry, it's most likely still digesting its previous meal. If it hasn't eaten in more than three to four weeks, try giving it live food. Often this will stimulate the snake's hunting instinct.

If it still doesn't eat, find a herpetologist in your area and make an appointment.

Without further details, it could be one or more of a number of reasons !...

The temperature of the vivarium might be too cold.

The snake might have internal parasites.

The humidity of the vivarium might have changed.

The snake may be shedding (many go off their food during ecdysis).

The snake could be injured...

These are just a hand-full of a long list of possibilities.

Perhaps the snake is getting ready to shed, or it is simply not hungry. Try feeding it again later, or take it to a vet because the snake could be ill.
