So I wasn't really thinking and I ate unrefrigerated store-bought salsa (something I have never done before) and became really worried about it afterwards. I opened the salsa Friday night and ate in Sunday afternoon, without thinking about the consequences. I did a Google search, but it only intensified my concerns, so I called poison control. They informed me that I would be fine, but that I should throw away the rest of the salsa.
I know this doesn't really answer your question, but I guess what I'm saying is it's a lot better to be safe and lose out on a few dollars than to get food poisoning.
In the future, I would only eat it if it had been out for less than 4ish hours.
