A nata starter is the liquor needed to make nata de coco. It is a fermented mixture of grated coconut heads, water, and sugar that has been left for 4 days.
To begin making Nata de coco you need to buy nata starter or get nata starter from someone who makes it. After this first time when you remove the nata from the growth pot, the liquid left over is the starter for your next batch.
Coconut soda or water with a little bit of sugar and a pinch of salt.
