There isn't a dish by the name of "himmel".

But the dish "Himmel und Hölle"does exist, it is also known as "Himmel und Erde".

"Heaven and Hell" and "Sky and Earth" are the translations.

Which is part is "heaven" and which part is "hell"or "earth" I am not certain,

but it does taste good.

(traditional method)

Ingredients for two people.

1 kg apples

1 kg potatoes

150 g Onions

500 g blood sausage

0.13 l Milk

50 g Butter

1 Egg yellow

1 tb Oil

20 g Sugar

Salt

Nutmeg

Method

Peel the potatoes and boil in salted water

Heat the milk with the butter and MASH with the whipped egg and boiled potatoes,

season with nutmeg and salt.

Fry off the sliced Blood sausage (both sides) with onion rings (golden brown)

Peel the apples, cave and quarter. Add the sugar whilst stewing them with very little water.

Put the sliced blood sausage, stewed apples and mashed potatoes in layers into a greased fireproof casserole,

finishing off with mashed potatoes on top.

Then scatter with the onion rings.

Bake in preheated the oven 200°C (400°F) for about 20 minutes. "Guten Appetit"
