Well first of all There is 8 courses in the French Cuisine. Salad, However is the 6th meal of the day. Because there is so many people in France mostly everyone is super fat. Bunch of lazies too.

The basis of a salad in France is usually lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber.

The rest varies with availability and how the cook feels. The choice is usually from croutons, frisee, sliced raw onions, spring onions1 , red peppers, green peppers, radishes, black olives, raisins, walnuts, celeri rave2, bean sprouts, raw spinach, raw mushrooms, raw leeks, anchovies and dressing.

The dressing is often vinaigrette, but may be mayonnaise, alone or with blue cheese.
