My generation of kids of the 1980's (I was born in 1980), for us, the name "Gabriela" was really popular. My third grade class alone I think had like, 7 Gabrielas. More and more though, Anglo names are being used, Spanish names are falling increasingly out of favor. Names such as "Alba," "Maria" of all names, "Carla," "Carmela," "Carmen," "Isabel," "Maricela," "Marisol," etc are all becoming "old hat." In fact, most of the females in Honduras you will meet with names like "Isabel" are in their 50's or older.
