The first truce talks began on 10 July, 1951 in Kaesong, but fell through six weeks later. They resumed on 27 November, 1951 at Panmunjom.
There are many places in history where people have signed truces and made claims to peace. The Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea where peace talks is Panmunjom.
Panmunjom is important as it is the truce village where the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed in 1953, ending the Korean War. It now serves as the venue for inter-Korean talks and is one of the few points of contact between North and South Korea.
The peace talks began in 2015.
The Paris Peace talks were to bring about peace and end the war in Vietnam. The US met with North and South Vietnam on November 23, 1972 for the peace talks.
The peace talks that revolved around dividing Vietnam reflected Cold War tensions. The peace talks refer to the Geneva Conference in 1954.
