How to not abandon a book you've been writing or technically prevent writers block?

I don't think there is any official way, but what works for me is temporarily abandoning a book, then not thinking about it AT ALL, until my mind relaxes again. But that's just me.

I actually get this alot. it helps if you write a story with a friend so the variation helps you become more creative
