Well, for adoption, you have to get official papers sent to the court and all and I'm pretty sure there's a hearing (I'm not a lawyer) so I think it's up to a judge. I remember when I got adopted, there wasn't a formal hearing I don't think (I was 9, I'm 18 now so it's a bit fuzzy haha) but the judge talked to me and talked to my parents and asked me if I wanted to be adopted and probably did legal searches and stuff on my (now) father. So, if the judge deems you to be a fit parent and the 17 year old is okay with the adoption, then they should agree to everything. I don't really see the point, it's just a year until they're 18 and legally an adult. Maybe you want to do it for insurance purposes? I don't know. Just a guess.
No, to adopt a child you have to be at least 18 years old.
no you have to be 18
Yes, you can adopt at any age above 18
by adoption
Yes. As long as it is proven that You are financially able to take care of the child.
The legal age to care for a minor is 18 years old. However, not many 18 year olds would be likely to be approved for an adoption.
if he or she is 18, you don't have to. just get them kicked out and take them in yourself.
18
There might be, but you will have to go to South Africa and ask anyone if they would like to adopt!
First of all at 20 they are no longer a minor. They became an adult at 18. So, you don't adopt an adult.
You'll have to be 18.
As far as I'm aware, Texas allows adult adoptions; you should check with an attorney.
