Well, It depends on if you believe The Bible pretty much. I am a Diest, which I believe that God created the world, but doesn't interfere anymore. So I don't believe that me being gay will cause me to burn in the firey pit of Hell ;). So if you're gay, don't worry about it. Now if you are a devout something, it may say that it is "wrong". Most gays cannot help being attracted to guys. I never made a choice, so how can I be punished for a sin when I never made a concious decision? So you are good here.

You will get some very different answers to this question, depending on who is doing the answering. First off, know that God LOVES you, no matter what you are or have done. Secondly, the Bible does teach that homosexuals cannot go to Heaven, BUT it teaches that a person who is a homosexual can be delivered from homosexuality, set free from it so they are no longer homosexuals. Many people will say "once gay, always gay," but there are people who were once homosexuals and now they are not. Also a lot of people think that calling homosexuality a sin is judging. If that were true, we could not call ANYTHING a sin, because why would calling one thing a sin be judging, but calling another a sin NOT be? Such as, for instance, we would not be able to say that murder is a sin, if calling something a sin is judging. But the Bible calls these things sin. So it is God who is the judge, not us. God wants you to be His child and to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. Please turn to Him and ask Him to set you free from homosexuality and make you His child. He loves you SO very much.

Another Perspective:There are several factors to consider when answering a question such as this.

1. What is Hell? There are multiple Christian perspectives, including many different FUNDAMENTALIST Christian perspectives, Middle Eastern perspective, and basically, a different perspective for many of the OTHER mainstream religions. The very definition of Hell varies according to an individuals religious system.

2. Not all religious systems bother to concern themselves with homosexuality, and in fact, most religions outside of Christianity and Islam, don't bother to make judgments like that.

3. For those myopic religions that are so judgmental, perhaps it would be good to point out that only God can judge, in fact, the Christian bible even tells adherents to not put yourself in judgment over others.

4. Let me also point out that God made the Homosexuals too. Some research has shown that homosexuality is more common when population densities increase. Postmortem studies of homosexuals as compared to heterosexuals have shown that there are actual physical differences in their brains, indicating that homosexuals are physically different than heterosexuals. That being the case, wouldn't it suggest that your Christian God actually CREATED the homosexuals to be different? If God created a homosexual, how can a "Good Christian" attempt to pass judgment? If the God you worship knew that you were a good person at heart, moral and a true believer, do you think she/he would condemn you to hell. Sounds like a person has decided what god thinks to me. I'm agnostic, so everyone thinks I'm going to hell, even the atheists. Lesbianism is a sin, though not greater than other sins, and when you sin you go to Hell. However, if you ask God to forgive you, you can go to Heaven. He will forgive anybody for anything. As long as you know in your heart that it is wrong, and you know you will not do it again, God will gladly forgive you.

The Bible is clear that sex between two men or between two women is considered a lustful practice and God forbids men lusting for men and women for women. But it's God's will that each of us grow and heal, from every type of wound. We can all be whole through the healing power of Christ. That is part of what Christ died for. I also think there are people who have a gene for a specific sexual preference. But the Bible calls that a generational curse. Somewhere on their ancestry, someone engaged in wrongful sex and it passed a curse down. The Bible is very clear about generational curses. They are brought on by particularly abominable sins that God detests. Those who engaged in such sexual behavior in the earlier days of Israel (the Old Testament) were put to death for such things. God instituted those laws to keep Israel from sin. Since God is holy and we are the temple where His spirit dwells (if we invite Him in), we cannot join God's Spirit with an unclean spirit. It's an abomination. Even adultery is one of the Ten Commandments, which God gave to Moses after he had fasted forty days and nights, seeking God for His people. Any sex outside of marriage is either fornication or adultery. It doesn't matter if there are same sex laws now. God doesn't change the Bible for people. So if adultery is one of The Ten Commandments to not commit, fornication of all kinds is in that same category. Fornication is any sex with a single person. I also believe that we all inherently know the law of God in our heart. The Bible speaks of that. Every person is born with a sense of right and wrong. It's when we repeatedly commit sin that our conscience becomes seared and we no longer feel badly about committing sin.

• I want to respond to the person who asked if they would go to Heaven if they had only experimented with same sex behavior. If you have repented and live as God desires in His Word, you will go to Heaven. Anyone who lives a life that pleases God will go to Heaven. And God doesn't throw out His children who struggle with things, yet desire to please Him. He understands struggles. I want to also say that I don't feel that a sexual tendency would keep someone out of Heaven if the person pleases God with their life and doesn't practice sexual sin. I used to have a beloved neighbor who was gay and he loved God. Many gay and bisexual or transgender people love God deeply. There's no doubt in my mind about that. But it's when people give in to carnal desires and never grow to a place spiritually where they gain spiritual power over the flesh, that they are in sin. I believe that if a gay or bi or transgender person serves God with their life and doesn't commit sexual sin but lives a celebate life, they would go to Heaven. I'm a single person and I don't commit sexual sin. I also don't have sexually impure thoughts or sexual desire. Once we get to a certain level spiritually, we are no longer governed or controlled by a sexual appetite, even though God created sexual desire. We can do what God asks us to do when we choose to live holy, by God's power that works within us. If God didn't make that possible, He wouldn't expect it of us. So we need to gain power over carnal appetites and lusts, as the Bible refers to it and live lives that are pure and holy and free of sexual sin, if we are single or married people. It can require a process of time to gain spiritual strength. It did for me because I formerly had a sexual lifestyle as a single woman. I counsel people that struggle with masturbation as Christians. I tell them that if they struggle, repent and strive to gain spiritual growth and strength. God understands those things. But we are not to be controlled by sexual desire. Anything that controls us we are in bondage too and God has called us out of bondage to everything. His Word says once we experience God, we are not to become entangled in yokes of bondage again. So God has given His power to overcome anything we need to overcome. It's there for us when we're able to appropriate it. I love gay people and we should know that God loves all people regardless of who they are. But He's called us to holiness and He can love people without respecting them. I believe there is mercy for each of us wherever we are. But we need to make our spiritual growth a top priority in life because we all will stand before God and give an account of our lives to Him. It means reading His Word to know what He expects of us. We can even know truth but if we get away from it, we forget it and become weighted with things that keep us from the light of God.
