Yes. I am totally with you. Sometimes people may give out of bad intention, such as a selfish intention. People who are given much are expected to give much. For example if i was a billioniare, i would make myslef middle class. Because i would give all my money away. Why? Becasue life does not come from an abundance of money. Life comes from the word of god. Love is the factor in charity. To me giving away is another way of glorifying the father. If we do whatever we can to do our best in gorifying his name, that is what matters the most. Remeber what God values the most. He gave more honor to the widdow in The Bible for giving what little she could. Which was everything! She put her faith in him. That is what is most important.

Why is the theological virtue charity important?

Charity, or love, is the most important virtue because it is literally Love for God above all else for His own sake and love for one’s neighbor as oneself for the love of God. It is the virtue that gives all other virtues meaning. We can particpate in God's love. The Vatican’s statement on charity reminds believers that all the virtues are inspired by charity, which “binds everything together in perfect harmony” (Colossians 3:14, ESV). The theology of charity (love) is based on Jesus' teaching to love God and to love others. "If I . . . have not charity," says the Apostle, "I am nothing." Whatever my privilege, service, or even virtue, "if I . . . have not charity, I gain nothing." Charity is superior to all the virtues. It is the first of the theological virtues: "So faith, hope, charity abide, these three. But the greatest of these is charity."

How are love and charity related?

Love and charity are deeply interconnected, as charity often stems from a place of love and compassion for others. Love motivates individuals to act selflessly, seeking the well-being of others, which is the essence of charitable acts. Additionally, charity can be seen as a tangible expression of love, where one’s care for others translates into actions that support and uplift those in need. Ultimately, both love and charity emphasize connection, empathy, and a commitment to nurturing the welfare of others.

There is a famous saying to "love your neighbor as yourself" and I kind of agree with that. It's most important that you focus on loving yourself first. Before you can love someone else, you have to know how to love yourself.

Can you explain the concept of "essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity" and how it applies to our beliefs and actions?

The concept of "essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity" means that we should focus on what is most important and agree on those core beliefs, while allowing freedom in less crucial matters. We should approach all things with love and understanding. This principle guides us to prioritize unity in important beliefs, respect differences in less critical matters, and show kindness in all situations.
