It can only be answered by defining the terms, and the answer lies in the definitions themselves. In this latter question, there is sound if you define sound as compression waves in the air. There is no sound if you define sound as something heard by an aurally sensitive entity.

You can only answer the former question by defining "abnormal." In a strictly evolutionary sense, homosexuality is a biological abnormality, since it is anti-reproductive in its consequences. But it can be defined as well in a purely social context and, as history shows us all too clearly, is only as normal or abnormal as the society in which it occurs deems it to be. In a certain sense, yes. Generally, modern psychology and science explain how sexuality is a spectrum, not a set of discrete categories. Many people who feel they are straight do have some homosexual feelings and many people who feel they are gay do have some heterosexual feelings. However, even among this spectrum most people tend to be gathered toward the heterosexual end of the scale. Because most people are heterosexual (or predominantly heterosexual) being gay is considered abnormal.

However, it should be noted that abnormality does not imply a disorder or a problem. A 20 year old male who is over 6' 4" is abnormal, yet we do not categorize him as having a problem or needing treatment. The vast majority of professionals in these fields (e.g. psychology, psychiatry, etc.) find that homosexuality is a normal and healthy deviation from the norm, does not justify a disorder, and does not require treatment (nor should treatment be given to try to adjust one's sexuality).
