Does recycling cause pollution

There is an energy cost for recycling many materials, and some pollution is created by creating the heat generated to melt glass or metal. However the air pollution from recycling is minor compared to the pollution caused by mining new materials.

There is a need to design recycling collection depots properly. Blowing trash must be minimized, oils and fluids must be contained, fire controls must be in place, toxic ,aterials must be segregated, scavenging must be minimized. All these activites can lead to local contamination and pollution problems

Recycling reduces pollution by:

- Reducing the amount of garbage that goes into the dump

- Reusing items reduce the amount of new items that need to be manufactured

(Conserving the amount of energy needed to create new items, and the amount of trash, and toxic contamination resulting from the manufacture of recyclable items.)

- Organic waste can be recycled to reduce the volume of waste going into landfills

yes because if the stuff that were recycled would stink and I don't think you would want to smell awful in front of every one.
