I'm not sure what it is for other people but this is how I learned responsibility. I have a younger brother that I love dearly. He's just 4 years younger and we've been best friends from the very beginning. I never really cared about school at all, ever. Failing doesn't bother me. My mom wasn't very strict about it. She would just ask questions like, "What are you going to do next time instead?" and I would make up some crap like "I'll study harder" and all that balony. But I finally started working hard when my brother started failing as well. He is smarter than and has more potential so my mom was a little harsher with him than she is with me. She asked him how he could let this happen and his reply was "Meg doesn't care so why should i?" Immediatly my grades picked up. I didn't do it for the sake of me but for the sake of my brother. It's not easy, that's for sure, and it's hard not to get frustrated with myself, but whenever I set a goal, something that I knew had to get done otherwise it could mess things up, not only for me but for my brother, that's when I stepped up and became responsible. If u read this entire thing I give you props. :P
