How do you turn back straight?

This is a highly contentious issue in which opinions will vary.

If one believes, as many do, that homosexuality is in-born and a matter of genetics, then no, you can not "turn straight", though you can obviously choose to remain celibate or violate your nature.

If one believes, as many do, that homosexuality is "learned", as in "malimprinting", then yes, you can "turn straight", though changing anyone's malimprinting is a very difficult task, and one that is rarely successfully accomplished for the long term.

For this reason, one could say with a fair degree of confidence, that whether homosexuality is a matter of nature or nurture, that it exists in that person and is unlikely to ever go away.

From reading that question I'm assuming that you're gay or bi and you want to turn straight and in the past you were straight but now you're not. Sexuality is very complex first of all, for some it will change and develop and for others their sexuality is very clear to them at birth and will remain that way. You cannot change your sexuality, but you can act straight or accept it.

Acting straight might not be healthy for you, I am not asking you to act like a stereotypical gay but advising you to accept who you truly are. Self awareness and self acceptance is healthy where as burying yourself underneath lies is not.

Sometimes you might want to change yourself just because you think that people will love you more, if you're in a place where you think if you were outed as gay or came out as gay you would be bullied or whatever then you might be scared but over time you can learn to live a happy, healthy life as a gay or bi man or woman.
