-You cannot be Catholic and gay. The Catholic church denounces homosexuality. So it is a form of heresy to try and change the doctrine. You can however be a gay Protestant, simply because a Protestant is any form of Christianity that goes against the Catholic Church. You should study the scripture, spend time with the Father and come to your own conclusion. What you should be asking yourself is "What is the will of God?"-

What I meant was that I know they frown upon it, I just don't know why. I believe it would have something to do with them not being able to breed, or it's not natural or something like that. But I'm Catholic and I don't mind gay people.

No one can help how they are born, they just have free will to control their actions. Obviously this will be unfairly more difficult for you not to do the wrong thing if you happen to be into other blokes, but its uncatholic for anyone to hate you for it, and it would be right for others to understand your difficulty and help you live with it. To be proud of your situation might be a bit of a contradiction, but just do the right thing as much as you can and love everyone and you can be catholic.

No. You can only have a baby with someone of the opposite sex. Just because you care for someone, doesn't mean you should marry them. I you have VERY strong sexual feelings for someone of the opp sex, you need medical help and should contact a support group or begin taking medicine.

Bottom line? No, you can not be Catholic and "gay" because being "gay" means that you are choosing, with your own free will, to live a homosexual lifestyle. If you choose to live in heaven after you leave this earth, then you choose to deal with your feelings like every other human being on this earth. If we all chose to live by our feelings, this world would be a terrible place, but we can choose not to commit adultery, not to steal, not to kill other people. In other words, Our Blessed Lord, through His Sacraments, particularly of Reconciliation and Holy Communion gives us the strength to live a good and holy life as He has made a plain request for - if we want to spent eternity with Him, and not in eternal pain and agony. If you are Catholic and are trying to deal with these feelings, believe me, you can. God never tests us beyond what we are capable of, and He knows us a lot better than we know ourselves. Find a good priest that you can trust, and discuss this with him. Yes one can be a Christian and a Catholic. The difficulty of being in the Catholic Church and being Christian is there must be a fundamental change in the understanding of what salvation depends on. A Christian is one that has accepted the gift of salvation (and eternal life) from God. This gift was offered through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. So salvation is based totally and completely on the work done by Christ on the cross. All we have to do is accept the gift. Accept what Jesus did for us, repent (turn away) from our sin and accept Jesus as our Savior, Lord and King. The Catholic Church teaches that salvation is based on the various works (things we do). There is a list of things that we must do and another list of things we must not do to get to heaven. So, one can be Christian and Catholic but you must understand the all-sufficiency of Christ's redemptive work.
