Hydrogen has to come from somewhere.
The conversion of electricity to hydrogen is inherently inefficient.
There may be applications for a mobile application of Hydrogen (automobiles) where there are requirements of high power density and quick "charges". However, for a fixed location such as a building, it would be inefficient, and one would be better off just using electricity.
Remember, of course, most of the Natural Gas that is used in the USA is a fossil fuel.
