Unless you can absolutely prove it (by catching the person red handed) then you should never accuse someone of stealing. You may just have the wrong person! It's hard to tell if he stole from your brother or not and there is no way of knowing for sure, but one thing you managed to do was insult the person. Put yourself in his shoes! You should have kept your suspicions to yourself and said nothing until you could prove it and, it was up to your brother to deal with this and not you.
