yes, because the governments got tons of money, but they only offer good jobs to rich people, and they are too greedy to donate money or build shelters, so that is why you always see commercials and ads about how they want you to donate money. The government instead of donating to the poor, they are using all their money on some random wars against communists and terrorists, even though they are NOT a threat to america. Just for fun, you should watch, "Santa hates poor kids" on YouTube; it is a song about rich kids getting everything o.O

We tend to blame governments for poverty because we expect our government to solve social problems such as poverty (President Lyndon Johnson once had a program called "The War On Poverty"). However, while governments may succeed or fail in varying degrees as managers of a national economy, they are not the reason for poverty. It is essentially the nature of a competitive society that some people are going to be more successful than others. The free market is designed to allow people to sink or swim. It is possible to design an economic system in which people do not have to compete and everyone is supported equally by the society, however, this has been tried, and so far it hasn't worked very well. Rather than making poverty disappear, it can cause the whole economy to fail, so that everyone is poor. This is essentially what happened to the Soviet Union.
