I'd consider many things. How old is he? If he is not even into his mid-teens, I'd probably suggest that he wait. Is this just a matter of intense curiosity about that kind of underwear? Is he old enough to be sexually active, and if so is he responsible and safe, and considerate of the safety of his partners? Giving him an opportunity to know what thongs are like is not necessarily a bad thing at all; he may find quickly that he really doesn't like the 'feel' of them. I may be naïve, especially since I am a guy who has never worn a thong.
