Civilizations with strong rulers survived longer because they had strong, large armies, that would protect the civilizations, and made laws or rules that kept the kingdom together. Civilizations with weaker rulers were easily invaded by waves of invaders because they didn't have strong armies, and had less people in their kingdom that would help establish a stronger civilization.
