The oils and fluids from his shop leak into the stream which empties into a river which flows to the ocean a thousand miles away. Bob washes his car in the middle of the city. The water and soap and oils from his car run down his driveway into the street. The polluted water flows down the street into the storm drain which flows into the river which flows into the ocean.
