A person has an attitude of angry, sad, belligerent.

Whe I say that my son has an attitude that means he is being, in my opinion, unreasonable.

If someone says you have an "attitude" it means that you are frequently hostile, argumentative, and/or disrespectful. This can be either in what you say, the way you act, or even just the look on your face. For example, if your boss at work asks you to do something and you roll your eyes, sneer, and stomp off - that is "attitude".
