In my opinion, an example of a postindustrial society would be Japan. Japan's culture is predominantly based on technology. The society is fueled by information through the internet and manufacture of technological devices, as well as consumer information and service.
Postindustrial: of or relating to an economy that no longer relies on heavy industry.
Post-industrial means that it passes through, or dodges, a phase of society predominated by a manufacturing based economy and moves on to a structure of society based on the provision of information, innovation, finance, and services.

The key switch a society makes when transitioning from industrial to postindustrial is a shift from manufacturing-based economic activities to knowledge-based and service-oriented ones. In a postindustrial society, the emphasis moves towards information, technology, and innovation, prioritizing intellectual capabilities over physical labor. This transition often leads to changes in workforce skills, with a greater demand for education and expertise in fields such as technology, finance, and healthcare. Additionally, social structures and cultural values may evolve to reflect this new focus on information and connectivity.
