Gender identity is the way someone identifies with their physical gender. Gender Identity Disorder is when a person does not identify with their physical gender. A boy, for example, may have boy parts but identifies himself with the opposite sex. Everything in this person's being says "I'm a female" but the body parts don't match that identity. This is called transgendered which just means cross-gendered. They are not usually considered "gay" though. In many, many cases the person will go through GSR, Gender Reassignment Surgery. Then the body parts more closely resemble the emotional gender identification. A male who goes through GSR and becomes female and then has a male partner would not be considered gay. They are a female and male in partnership.

Sexual orientation is the way someone identifies sexually with the same/opposite sex. A woman who identifies as a lesbian can have female body parts AND be sexually attracted to other women, and still identify with their female body parts.

In the abbreviation GLBT community, GLBT stands for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans-gender. Trans-gender is the ONLY one that is NOT a sexual orientation. Bisexual is someone who is sexually attracted to both genders.

Transgendered and transsexual are very different. A transsexual wears clothing of the opposite sex for sexual gratification and usually identifies as "straight." Someone who is transgendered doesn't wear clothing of the opposite sex for sexual gratification, but because it matches their gender identity.

A Drag Queen wears clothing of the opposite sex and identifies with their physical gender, though they often refer to themselves as "she." They are usually sexually attracted to the same sex, so then would identify as gay, not transgendered.

You are a girl but you want to be a boy however you still like boys what are you Transgender?

Gender Identity (the gender you consider yourself to be) has nothing to do with sexual orientation (the gender you are attracted to); therefor, a girl who considers herself male is an FTM transgender who can "like" boys or girls. Just like a biological man can be attracted to men or women. There is no difference between a transman and a genetic man aside from his chromosomes.
