One opinion
  • Your pool of "available partners" is much smaller.
  • Your likelihood of contracting an STD is much higher [This is not actually a truthful statement]
  • Most religions and societies frown upon homosexuality.
  • Straight men will always have a teensie thorn in their side about you...even if they're okay with it, it makes things awkward... kinda like how boy/girl friendships are...you always wonder if the other person likes you, even if you aren't interested in them.

Better opinion

There are many disadvantages, and they vary by society:

  • People call you homosexual instead of gay
  • You don't have equality in most places
  • Most Christians "love" you, but vote against your rights
  • Muslims want to kill you
  • People judge you and hate you without ever meeting you
  • People mistakenly believe you are sick or flawed
  • You are sometimes disowned by family

In spite of these disadvantages, many gay people are able to make wonderful lives for themselves, by surrounding themselves with good, loving people. There are so many disadvantages, that it's a wonder anyone believes that being gay is a choice.
