There are many forms of pollution. However the most frequently discussed forms of pollution would be air pollution and water pollution. Air pollution occurs when air pollutants are released into the air, and therefore is airbourne. Water pollution is, as the name suggests, pollution of water. This can be further subdivided into sewage water, factory discharge and many others. So I am not entirely sure what you mean, if you could specify, that would be great! :)

Pollution is defined as "The presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or thing that has harmful or poisonous effects."Simply put there was a problem situation caused by the introduction of materials to the environment and a name for it was created. Pollution can be created naturally (volcanos, erosion, dissolving of poisonous materials from rocks) or by human activities (industrial effluents, raw sewage discharges, carbon dioxide emissions) At one time in Earth's history oxygen was a pollutant which wiped out the anaerobic life forms. This the "badness" of pollution is dependant on the situation.
There are different types of pollutions. The three important types of pollutions are water pollution, land pollution and air pollution.
