its not that it gets slow as i quiets down. actually it doesn't quiet down at all, your ears adjust to the noise level, and the tractor still runs at the same speed.

i think you may be talking about the resonator box. that quiets the intake noise and stops that hissing noise from hard acceleration. many people remove them because they like the extra noise.
