It is a phenomenon where the water gets mixed up naturally or by industrial or biological wastes and toxic gases.

Causes:

1. Industrial wastes

2. Washing clothes and bathing in the water bodies like lakes, rivers, etc.

Consequences:

1. The water gets polluted, so that the usage of that water for drinking causes formation of stones in kidneys.

2. If we use that water in dying industry, the shades of the clothes gets changed.

3. If that water is used in the pharmaceutical industry, then the composition of the medicines gets changed and results in the formation of undesired toxic products.

Conclusion:

The water from the seas, oceans and the brackish waters are saline and they are not pure water bodies. Where as the water from the rivers and lakes is purer than those of the saline water bodies. More over, Rain water is the purest form of water, which is 100% pollution free.
