What resource is non-renewable?

Non-renewable resources are recourses that can't be replaced in a short amount of time. ex: oil, natural gas, coal (these take millions of years to be made).

A non-renewable resource is a resource that is finite; a resource that we will evetually run out of. Examples of this include petroleum and coal - we have finite reserves of these resources - they may last for a hundred or more years, but they still are finite. Renewable resources are the opposite, they will always be there - solar energy, the sun will always be there (unless you look beyond 5-8 billion years, by which time it is expected to cease to exist, to become a white dwarf), wind energy, tidal energy etc

A resource that can not be replaced once used up, is a definition of a non-renewable resource. For example: once the coal seam in a coal mine has been depleted, the mine is closed down.

Oil, gas and coal are three examples of non-renewable energy resources. Once these three resources are used up, we can't replace them. We will have to do without, or find an alternative.
