Rights refer to the entitlements or freedoms that individuals have, such as the right to freedom of speech or the right to healthcare. Responsibilities, on the other hand, are the duties or obligations that individuals have towards society or others, such as the responsibility to follow laws or to respect the rights of others. While rights focus on what individuals are entitled to, responsibilities focus on what individuals are expected to do.

Rights come with responsibilities. As an animal cannot be assigned responsibilities, they cannot deserve rights. To do otherwise would be to say "humans have to toe a line to deserve rights, but animals don't". In other words, they would be held as superior to humans. I suppose you could say they have the right to be prepared properly!

When citizens are granted rights, they are typically expected to uphold the responsibilities that accompany those rights. This includes respecting the rights of others, participating in civic duties like voting, and adhering to laws that maintain social order. Ultimately, the exercise of rights should promote the common good and the well-being of society as a whole.
In theory, justice is based on fairness. Injustice should have equal consequences. By respecting the rights of others we are upholding the consequence for said injustice. Again theoretically, this should provide amends and a sense of closure for those for whom who's respect was violated. Through justice we are respecting the rights of others by acknowledging (in the United States at least) an individual's right for the 'inalienable right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness'. Ideally, when the respect and rights of others are compromised, justice should prevail.
Citizenship carries certain responsibilities because being a citizen provides a person with certain privileges and rights. Citizens should work to preserve the Constitution and perform useful services to the state.
