In America the 1920's were a period of what seemed an economic and social boom. Women started to go out and socialize more.

It was during this era when cars had become popular. This, in turn, caused a more travel in families. Since more people could afford cars they went out more and socialized more. People would go out as a family to picnics or small outings.

Women, in society, went out late more and exercised their freedom. It is a common belief that women were all "flappers" during this time epriod but in reality only rich females were "flappers". Women of the time just went out more but they still stayed as a "moral-compass" in the home base.
