The killing of Emmett till in Mississippi was one of the triggers of the African American equal rights movement and can be considered one of the most grizzly brutal killings by associates of the KKK. Two men took the boy for whistling at one of their wives and they took him to an abandoned wear house and brutally beat, killed, and mutilated the boy, then wrapped him in barbed wire and threw him in a river. When the body was discovered they found that his right eye was out of its socket and hanging down to his cheek and his left eye was missing. There was a gaping hole in the side of his head from a gunshot and they cut his tongue and genitals off. The mother had an open casket funeral open to the public to show the horrors of the south.

One key factor that stopped Wegener from fully proving his theory of continental drift was the lack of a plausible mechanism to explain how continents could move. Additionally, Wegener faced resistance from the scientific community who were skeptical of his ideas based on the limited evidence he presented at the time. Lastly, the technological advancements necessary to provide compelling evidence for his theory, such as satellite mapping and deep-sea drilling, were not available during Wegener's time.
There is no conclusive evidence that Jack Ruby was a member of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). Ruby, who is best known for killing Lee Harvey Oswald, had a complex background and associations, but his ties to the KKK are not well-documented or substantiated. Some conspiracy theories have linked him to various groups, but these claims lack solid proof. Ruby's motivations for killing Oswald appeared to be more personal and related to his emotional response to the assassination of President Kennedy.
In the United States today, there are approximately 5,000 and 8,000 KKK Klan members. This number was dramatically increased during earlier years.
