What's changing is what the rest of us think about it. Some times and places, it's been an honourable, expected thing. Other times and places it's just been quietly accepted. Yet other times and places it's been seen as something dirty, illegal, something to be ashamed of and punished for.
Whatever the majority is thinking now, odds are in 10 years time it'll be thinking something else.
