A lot of them could, but life here is apparently a lot better!
There are some, however, who have escaped a life that isn't tolerable though, or are being persecuted. It's hard sometimes to tell the genuine ones, who really would die or be tortured etc in their own countries. The system here is flawed, and, whilst I would never want to deny anyone the chance of a better life, Great Britain is becoming rather full!
Schools, doctors, hospitals, the NHS and lots of other services are overstretched to the limit. A lot of the time, immigrants cannot speak good english, so measures have to be taken to provide interpreters and stuff - it doesn't come cheap.
The only thing that I get really worried about is that we seem to be losing our national identity, our pride in our country, because we have to worry about who we offend etc.
The thing that does annoy is that some of them are just here for the benefits. If they do get jobs, they're taking ones that could be taken by people who were born here - and again, there really aren't enough to go around.
I guess the short answer to this is, some of them can't, but most of them could!
No I cant.
Yes. Immigrants have a chosen country for them to get a better life, identity and home due to family, political and other reasons. Immigrants can choose to leave their home but refugees are a whole different subject.
Go to your home country's Consulate Office and renew.
