Why do bullies bully gay people?

Especially at a young age, children have a habit of challenging anything that they believe is abnormal. Since homosexuality may seem like a foreign idea to them, they are inclined to bully, abuse and discriminate against gay children and other gay classmates. The practicality issue in here is that most children do not know their sexual orientation until they reach puberty.

If you witness someone getting bullied, regardless of the reason, step in and stop it or tell a trust teacher or adult.

The main reason people bully others is because they're just insecure about themselves, but the gay community gets it way worse. In a lot of people's minds, being anything but straight is "immoral." Those people are just unaware of the world. There are gay/bisexual/lesbian/transgender people out there. People need to get used to it.

There are many reasons why people get bullied for being bisexual.

1) They are stereotypically seen as being more promiscuous or unfaithful.

2) They are seen by the gay community as being 'too straight'.

3) They are seen by the straight community as being 'too gay'.

4) Many people find it hard to grasp the concept that people can be attracted to more than one gender and so they believe bisexual people are just going through a phase and will make their mind up as to which one gender they want to be with in the future.

5) Some people believe that bisexuality is not real or valid. This is perpetuated by 'barsexual' people (girls usually), meaning that people will hook up with someone of the same gender only when they are drunk (hence bar-) and will do it for other people (usually men), and any other time will not want to be with someone of the same gender.
