Why do the salvation army help?

William Booth created the Salvation Army for a lot of reasons. All lot of churches in Victorian times were all about image, if you were poor you either couldn't go, or had a seat pretty much on the floor, William made the Salvation Army a place where everyone was equal and could worship together.

Also he wanted his church to be helpful to others, some churches then would do nothing for others but the Salvtion Army was to also be a sort of charity, in the name of god.

The Salvation Army is a Christian organisation meaning it is based on the beliefs of Christ and God so basically they exist because they believe helping people is the right thing to do and they should do it.

The Salvation Army helps because it is following the mandate and example of Jesus Christ. They provide a wide variety of services to people in need, in over 120 countries around the world, who come within their sphere of influence.
