normally, when you buy a product that was produced in a LEDC (less economically developed country) barely any of the money goes to the farmer. fair trade makes it so most of the money goes to the producer, and not the sellers, this means that they can afford to support their families. Maybe if enough products become fairtrade, a village could afford a tap, to supply them with clean, fresh water, without walking for miles each day.

Why Should all global brands be forced to become fair trade?

No one should be "forced" into Fair Trade operation. However, they should all be strongly encouraged to do so. Most important, though, is convincing the end consumer that they should not purchase non-Fair Trade products. Why is fair trade important?

Fair trade is important because in many poorer countries, prices are so low that workers are unable to earn enough to live off of. Also, some goods are produced in ways that are exploitative to workers, or ways that are unsustainable environmentally, damaging to the environment in the communities in which the goods are produced. Fair trade does not instantly solve all these problems, but it aims to potentially address some of them in ways that conventional trade does not.

Are raisins fair trade products?

Raisins can be fair trade products, but it depends on the specific brand and certification. Fair trade certification ensures that the producers receive fair wages, work in safe conditions, and follow environmentally sustainable practices. To determine if a particular brand of raisins is fair trade, look for certifications from organizations such as Fair Trade International or Fair Trade USA on the packaging. Not all raisins are fair trade, so it's essential to check for these labels when purchasing.
