Why is it important to be an eco friendly school?

There are so many schools in this world, and each one uses a lot of energy and produces a lot of waste. Even if every school just did one small thing, it would add up to a lot. Pretty much every school has many classrooms that use lights. By using energy-efficient light bulbs or technology for computers or shutting off lights when rooms are not used or when the lights are not needed could save tons of electricity. Being water-conscious is important, too. So many children bring bottles or cans of drinks to school for lunch. Recycling even 1/2 of those could add up to so much waste saved. Not only is this good for the environment, it also provides a healthier space for the children and teachers to work and learn in. It can also save the school a lot of money in reduced energy costs and reduced waste costs.

Eco-friendly, Environmentally-friendly, or Going green is important to save the earth. When you say 'eco-friendly', you are referring to a large number of things you can do. Terracycling, recycling, reusing, reducing electricity usage.. It's all important to reduce pollution and protect the earth.
