Because, sadly, so many are raised by people who have had ignorant and racial thoughts in their heads thought to them since birth. They simply do not know any other way to deal with differences than with hatred. Whether American or not, racism is a sad example of how hate, violence, and ignorance travel from generation to generation. But thankfully, love, peace, and knowledge are also passed on, and these are really our only weapons against racism.
