· Connel argues that there are a range of masculinities in the contemporary UK. These are socially constructed sets of expectations about how men should behave, which differ according to class and ethnicity. Hegemonic masculinity is associated with: male supremacy, heterosexuality, aggression and having a laddish behaviour.

Young males may adopt a laddish culture due to the desire 'fit in' to a particular group. This can been seen in the study of Burdsey (2004) in his research on young Asian footballers who found that 'fitting in' was an important factor in determining the extent to which the footballers were consciously prepared to do (hide their Asian identities and adopting a laddish behaviour as the rest of the lads such as smoking and drinking alcohol even though they are not permitted to drink in their religion). People who do not fit in into a particular group may have a result into not being accepted and due tot his reason try to change the way that they normally behave therefore resulting into sometimes a laddish behaviour.

What is the difference between psychology as a natural science and social science?

Natural sciences only deal with objective knowledge, things that are repeatable and measurable quantitatively. Sociology, on the other hand, deals with subjective matters like ethics, morality, and how that matters to social behavior.

Briefly explain the differences between a census and a sample survey?

Researchers define a "population" which consists of elements with defined characteristics. Example: All the matriculating students at Providence College. If the researcher studies the entire population as defined above, it is called a "census". If, on the other hand, the researcher takes a subset of the population, a sample, and studies it it will be a sample survey (or study in more general terms.)

Was tamworth the capital of England?

Tamworth was the Capital of Mercia. Offa of Mercia is often cited as the first king of England, although it fell back into its regional kingdoms after his death. But I would guess that during his rule Tamworth would have briefly been the capital of England.
