The opposite may be true, as we lefties are "pushing" over the writing, whereas right handed writing is "pulling away" from it. At the very least, right handed writing usually looks neater, any lefty who's ever used a pencil or slow-drying pen would probably agree. (Now for someone else's answer- a lefty) There is only one left handed person in my class-me. It was changed to that after my friend moved away because she was the only other person left handed. The teacher told us that my friend and i actually had the neatest handwriting in the class. She would be first place for neatest, my other friend ( a righty) would maybe be second, and me third out of seventeen. :)
more people are right handed in the world...
Most humans are right handed but this may be as a result of centuries of disapproval of left handedness and therefore children were forced to be right handed in case they were accused of being odd or 'of the dark side'. The word sinister means to be on the left in heraldic language. In France a sinistre is a fire started deliberately. It has dark connotations whereas to be dextrous or have dexterity is to be on the right and be quick handed. Left handedness is inherited and along with red hair may be a genetic trait of Neanderthal man. This is of interest but not proven to be true.

They may have been, but there is no way to prove that they were. Being left or right handed is usually culturally decided. Most people learn to use their right hand rather than their left because that's what their parents and other people around them usually do.
